SpecialtyNetworkSllc – Tech titans are now fiercely competing in the mixed reality space—a blend of VR and AR often known as XR. Visionaries predict these headsets will eventually replace smartphones in daily life. For instance, Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, believes that in a decade, smart glasses could become as ubiquitous as handsets are today.
Meta has already taken the first step by collaborating with Ray-Ban to produce smartglasses fitted with artificial intelligence. These sleek frames deliver visual augmentation while maintaining a stylish design. Zuckerberg’s vision is clear: these glasses will integrate seamlessly into everyday life, just as pervasive as mobile phones.

Apple is also in the race with its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset. Though sales haven’t matched iPhone volumes yet, the company isn’t slowing down. Rumors point toward future models becoming more compact and powerful as Apple refines its XR offering for broader appeal.
Not to be left out, China’s Vivo just unveiled the Vision Discovery Edition—a bold entry into the XR market celebrating the brand’s 30th anniversary. Vivo claims four years of development and delivered a headset strikingly similar in design to the Vision Pro, featuring an aluminum frame and fabric head strap.

At 398 grams, the Vivo headset is significantly lighter than the Apple Vision Pro’s 600 grams. It also includes customizable fit options like four light seal sizes and eight foam cushions. Inside, it runs on Vivo’s own OriginOS Vision OS and features Micro-OLED 8K displays powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset.
Vivo emphasizes that its interface blends seamlessly into the user’s environment, incorporating eye tracking and fingertip gesture controls. The headset generates a virtual theater screen up to 35 meters wide, ideal for sports and e-sports viewing, with support for simultaneous multi-stream viewing. Vivo plans to showcase the device in China next week, with pricing and availability still under wraps.
